So I was told that I live in a free country. Why do we call ours a free country again? How is it different from say Saudi Arabia or Nigeria or Russia or China? Don’t tell me we have more rights here. That is a way too simple answer. Dont tell me we are a democracy. That is well.. not an answer at all.
Law and Order.
The enforcement of justice is usually what sets apart a free country from one that is plagued by dictatorship , terror or religion. My dad used to criticize any random movie that show the hero opening out his collar and beating up a policeman. ‘We should ban scenes where they show a policemen with a uniform being beaten up’, he used to say.
One fine day, I read this news about you busting 40 odd couples who were enjoying a stay of privacy at some 2, 3 star hotels in Mumbai localities. I then check in bewilderment whether the news is fake. I check again. I try to read the date. I then try to reason whether it was false.
It wasn’t.
My question is, since when did booking a room for privacy become a moral issue?Let us just say you are busting on Prostitutes and pimps, are you saying that you are on a mission to stop forced prostitution and child trafficking? No? I thought we should be worried about them more. Saving little girls from paedophiles and poor teenage girls from forced prostitution should be on the top of your list. They need school books, they need education, they need a life. Their existence is being nipped in the bud. It is something that will allow you to sleep at night. The fact that you are changing lives.
So if you weren’t doing that, what the hell were you doing knocking on innocent couples who had every right to be out there? Arent you the ones who are supposed to be protecting them? Not from STDs of course. That would be weird.
Since you are trying to blame past incidents of prostitution in that area, do you have the balls to accept that people in your very own force take bribes from pimps? Now isin’t that a moral issue? Prostitution and pimping would be nearly non-existent if you had taken stronger measures. So shall we do a sting operation and make all those policemen and women stand in a line and be slapped by people affected? Now wouldnt that be apt? As far as I know Corruption and bribery are far more shameful than two adults making love in the comfort of their hotel rooms.
If you came to know that today, you lost the respect of a whole lot of Indians, how does that make you feel? In your death bed, would you feel happy for knocking on the hotel room doors of innocent young couples and asking them to pay fines or call their parents? Is that why we chose you to protect us? It is time you bloody behaved yourself. You make criminals look more honourable.
Let us NEVER talk about morals again. Not with your track record, no.
And Modi ji /Modi Sarkar, our patience is wearing thin. Very, very thin. Stop jumping on planes to other countries and start looking at what is happening in this country on your watch. If people are still pinning hopes only because you are being compared to Rahul Gandhi, that is not something to be proud of.
Sincerely,
Everyone.
