First things first - This movie is worth a watch for everyone. I mean it just is. There is no compromise on quality or any technical aspects and to watch something like this straight from an OTT platform is just too good to be true. So try not to miss it.

The film talks about a man’s pursuit of his dream and price he is willing to pay for it, in a good way. The story while short and to-the-point, is definitely worth telling. The team have done a pretty good job with the treatment and special mention to them for bringing Suriya back from whatever he was upto. After 24, it was great to see the performer in Suriya knock scene after scene out of the park. Damn well done sir.
The supporting cast, music, early 2000s detailing and visuals have been selected with care. Guess what? It shows. Overall a lot to talk about the positives of this movie. I am not going to look for logical loopholes in a movie, because you know, it is a movie.
But its not all roses. The film’s main storyline is very short and screenplay (even with clever editing) does little to convince us to sit for 150 minutes. The remaining part of the film involving Suriya, Aparna and the villagers is wafer-thin and is dragged out big time. I mean the acting is still top-notch, but in an intense film about a gargantuan dream all these things serve a very small purpose. Some really long-drawn emotional scenes also test your patience.
The other problem with the screenplay is the delay in the win for our hero. I do not want to spoil this for viewers, but the screen writing could have sprinkled some small things for the audiences to cheer about. I personally almost felt left out as the movie inched towards the climax.
The dialogue too tries to step in a bit too often. Vijayakumar has done a great job wherever necessary. But in some scenes, I would have appreciated a more visual storytelling style. With top-shelf actors like Suriya, Paresh, Urvasi, Mohan Babu and Kaali Venkat, I felt there were too many dialogues to take the story forward.
All said and done, this film has suffered a lot from the weight of expectations. Watch it without expectations and you won’t be disappointed.
