I think this is long due. PJ’s post pushed me to put this down.
How much longer do we tolerate male chauvinism? Well there seems to be no end to it, so again is there any way we can circumvent it? I see a bit of chauvinism in everything. I see a lot of superiority bullshit in everything.
I see people advising girls to stay indoors after dark
I see and hear guys calling a scantily clad female ‘Slut’
I see guys complaining about girls wearing western wear, in the name of ‘culture’
I see parents trying to literally sell off their girls(with money) in exchange for so-called respect.
I ve heard Sheila Dixit call a BPO girl ‘adventerous‘ for returning from work at 3 AM in the morning
What do you call this?
India.
We live in a country where girls are told not to mention about their male friends to the groom’s family. We are constantly told that men are superior and that they have every right to assert the same over females. Then why do we have a problem with rape? Let it be worshiped. Are we opposing rape plainly because no guy may step up to marry that girl later on? Looks legit to me. This in India after all.
Shocking isn’t it? But not quite far away from the truth.
Marital rape victims are often told to swallow their dignity and move on with their lives. Even educated women are instructed and spoon-fed bullshit like ‘You need male company to survive’. Truth is the most successful women I have seen are people who have a supportive family or no partner at all. The married Indian woman is blamed for an array of things – an error in code, a spoilt kid, bad breakfast, less sex, low income, road accidents…. I can’t remember any more, I am sure I have left only a billion other things. Why is the Indian woman being abused so much?
The guys, well they grow up seeing how much women can be used from a very young age. That becomes an impression that never gets off their minds. The sad part is families and our women have started to accept this fact because… there is nothing they can do about it.
We live in a country where we believe it is still right to judge a rape victim from the situation and her ‘character’ on whether she ‘deserved’ it. One rape leads to all other girls being locked away and more guys swarming the streets in search of prey. It leads to sign like ‘inappropriate clothing not accepted’ in Pubs and Bars.
Who decides which is inappropriate? Definitely not humans. God ? Maybe. What if I am bloody Atheist?
I am not atheist. I am just a realist. And I am not Iron man.
I am just an ordinary Indian who wants to live a life of peace. I don’t take pride in driving fast. There is no pride in driving fast. You push the throttle, the engine revs. It is not because of you, it is because of your fuel and engine. But if you get some one hurt, then fuck you, because it was you who fucked it up. You dont get a bloody medal for for driving fast and getting involved in an accident.
On the same lines, if you are big,burly guys and if you rape a woman – there is no pride in it. It means you are a sissy. It means you are lame. It means you are jobless asshole who lives off hurting other humans.
All said and done – I just want my sisters, my future wife and my female friends to be safe. I check up on them, make sure that they are safe at all times. I escort them till their homes, I watch out for assholes who ogle at them and I think of how best I can avoid getting into fights with them. That is the best I can do. This includes even the so-called policemen. Most of them are never alone.
Unfortunately, by law of nature hyenas hunt in packs. That is because they are weak. They are useless, alone, lonely and don’t have a semblance of a life.
Perverts, get a life. Rape is not fun. Rape is a crime.
A girl is not an object. She is a creation and a creator of life and so a wonder. If you can’t accept that, then go fuck yourself. Not her.
