First things first. This is kids’ stuff. End of story. Before you even go further on this, let me put a few things deep in your mind. So all you grown-up idiots,

Its a perfect date movie, that’s cause there is nothing in the film that is gonna divert yr attention for 2 hours 😉
If you haven’t watched the previous Narnia films or if you dunno who Aslan is, well.. sweet dreams!! 😀
All female fans of HP and Twilight, the guys in the movie ain’t that hot… So its yr choice
If none of the above, Narnia is a great children movie – so don’t go if you don’t have some.
The third films in the series is like any third film of a triology(unlike Matrix of course) slower, less cooler and much less epic than the previous ones. The CGI lives up to the standards, the acting is ok and Liam Neeson’s voice is at its majestic best. The plot is quite tried and tested and since the danger quotients are far lesser than the previous movies, The voyage proves quite unfruitful.
After the happenings of the second movie, Narnia is in peace under the rule of Prince Caspian who is now King. The dawn treader is a ship that is on a critical journey to cleanse the imaginery world of an evil that thrives on the dark desires of ppl. This evil is portrayed as a green mist. And as ever we are told that Aslan will arrive only if some non-logical and difficult task is completed by the crew… *yawn*.. well he could come at first and do the deed with a small To-do list. Well its a kid movie and probably the kids must be taught that nothing comes without hard work… even if not required.
The movies loses it’s charm when we are let to know that Susan and Peter are not jumping in with the adventure. So Its just Edmund, Lucy and their annoying, comically-brilliant cousin Uastace. Ben Barnes returns, far less charming as Prince Caspian. Even the ever-cute Georgie Hensley fails to impress as Lucy. It is however Simon Pegg as ‘Reepicheep’, the talking rat who really keeps us engaged. The ideas looks dated and old, like a bunch of school kids and teachers took turns to make it into a full length movie.
By the time Aslan arrives, you are just waiting for the credits to roll.
Fun for kids.. oh yeah not that kid in you though.
2/5
