Upcoming stars who might make it BIG in Kollywood

Rule - I want to focus on people who are not yet in the big leagues. The intent of this answer will be to highlight folks who are not yet in the limelight as leading heroes, more than debating whether this hero will make it or that. In Lieu of that I wont be picking any actor who has been established with multiple hits. This excludes people like SK, Arun Vijay, Jayam Ravi, etc.,

‘Big’ here means A-List star. Not replacement for Rajnikanth/ Kamal/ Vijay/ Vijayakanth.

My personal picks

Arjun Das

I feel he has the x factor that others in this list don’t. Acting wise, he has done a superb job in the roles given so far. He has been able to do justice or even amplify the role to a whole new level. I wish he does a good makeover over his gruff roles in Kaidhi and Master.

Kathir

Kathir looks like the kind of guy who will age like fine wine. From an acting standpoint, this guy also checks a lot of the boxes. He has been able to walk through tough roles and hold his own.

Teejay Arunasalam

Wildcard entry. TJ doesnt seem to be too keen in picking up more roles, so I might be wayyyy off on this selection. But from a talent and acting perspective he is pretty good. For a lad who grew up in the UK, he has adapted quite well to the demands of Vetrimaran as part of his role in Asuran.

Likely to make it big due to backing:

Dhruv Vikram

As an actor, despite the trolls, I felt Dhruv is good enough to make it big. He has a solid backing and has already signed a movie with Mari Selvaraj, who is the most happening director in Tamil now. His screen presence is passable. He also has possibly the best acting mentor you can hope for in Tamil.

Kalidas Jayaram

I might be expecting much out of Kalidas as he has been trying for some time to make it big now. But his performance in Paava Kadhaigal was something that struck a chord with the audiences. I was still not floored exactly, but I think it is the mark of a good actor.
