Short answer: Yes.
Long answer :
Just to be clear, I am talking about these(Psst... Affiliate link)

So I want something like the Apple Airpods, right? But I dont have that kind of money(obviously). And even if did invest that kind of dough, I would be really really scared to use them casually, which is the purpose of having earphones really.
I get it, you have been bombarded with bluetooth earphones at cheap prices. But every time you look for the poor man's airpods, they sell you the semi-rich man's version at 2500 and above. There are tons of those. But none of them seem to be offer great sound as well as connectivity. So why get something of poor quality at 2500? Let us get that 900. Crappy? probably. But also cheap.
Now the Ptron bassbuds are not the first Truely Wireless earBuds in the market, right? They are certainly not going to be the last. The main USP of this device is the price and the lower number of compromises that come with it. At 999(899 on sale) they looked cool and seem to be a good deal during Diwali.
I have been using it for about 2 months now and I must say, I am impressed.
First things first - If you want exceptionally high quality audio, you have come to the wrong place. Please pass on this device and get something else that suits you.
Pros: Cheap , Light weight, decent battery, good connection strength when close
Cons: Below-par audio, no individual charging pins(can only charge from case), might fall off during workouts
Comfort
To me comfort is critical for earphones. In countries like ours, no reviewer really mentions the number of times you need to take it out or wipe your ears to stop sweat from accumulating this. On that note, these are super-comfortable. They stay on, if you shove them in hard enough. You may have to adjust them now and then if you are in a windy spot, but otherwise they are snug fit with the given earmuffs. Obviously they ship with a smaller and larger muff for your convenience.
Music
Audio quality in terms of music was quite substandard. It was almost unpalatable when I tried it after using quality earphones like Sennheisers and ATs. But for convenient listening on the go or while on commute, this was quite OK. This means unless you are very specific about the music quality and your playlists, this should be passable.
Video
For binging shows on Netflix or Amazon prime, this is one of the most affordable options out there. Most of the time, the audio was passable especially when I was watching them over commute, when there is a lot of ambient noise. You get used to the slightly muffled audio after a minute or two. Hey, it is like 899 on sale, man!
Calling
This is the first budget bluetooth device that has good call quality. This is in fact the first device that I can actually use for office calls. It is that good for both voice and internet calling(Zoom, Teams, Skype). But the nagging problem is the super-loud beeps that come prior to call connection, they almost jar you.
Build
The build is pretty decent for the price. It is all plastic and extremely light. Even the carrying case that doubles as a charging dock is quite light. I wouldn't recommend carrying it in your jeans, but they should be easy to throw into your duffel bag. They also act as a mini-power bank for a quick boost in the middle of the day. I have dropped them from about 6 feet at least 5 times and they have been as they are.
Battery
The battery back up is surprisingly good. I consistently got 4+ hours and about an hour or so if we juice it from the provided charging case. The two earphones charge directly from the case and there is no other way to charge them. You can use one alone if you want to save some power. Charging speed is decent. Unless you are a road warrior, these should be fine for regular use.
Bluetooth connectivity
Here is the iffy part of the earphones. These earphones are great when you have the connected device within a 2-3 metre radius from it. But any further from that and it drops like an out-of-form cricketer. But as long as your device is on you or close, there is nothing to worry about. These are even perfect for wearing inside helmets if you have a comfortable one. The earphones start pairing as soon as you take them, this takes anywhere from 10-20 seconds. Also, you need to keep the bluetooth switched off on paired devices(PCs, Phones, Tablets) while this happens. If you keep them on during this time, one of the earphones will pair to your phone/tablet/PC. The other will be left orphaned. So always wait till their pairing is done before you switch BT on at your end.
There is also a weird blackout effect where one earphone suddenly stops audio for 1-2 seconds and resumes again. But that to me is a not a deal breaker, I just rewind the show/song for about 10 seconds.
So that is about it. Do you think the Ptron is worth your money? What was the USP/deal breaker for you? Do comment the same below.
