Stuff that were worth their weight in gold during the Quarantine

1. CHAIR

I cant believe how good this investment turned out to be. With work every day and a work table already available, my chair suddenly became the iron throne of my home. The best of what I had this sad holiday. The one I have is similar to This bad boy.

2. WORKOUT PLATES

Yep there were gym weights lying in the dark,cursed,unseen corner of my house and it had been there for a while. Till I had to awaken them. The bench, bars, nuts and pretty much everything was rusted. But it was there for me and that is all I needed. In case you are wondering what kind of weights I am talking about the usually brand I go for are KORE.

3. WIRELESS SPEAKERS

I never thought they would be useful for work, but guess what? they were. Listening to online training and meetings without my headphone pressing against my head was bliss. Until of course my wife decided they were 'too loud'. Whatever! Logitech X50 or the plethora of Mi speakers will serve you well.

4. FOUNTAIN PENS

Yes. You read that right. I am dinosaur. I use messy fountain pens. But guess what? I could use my pens for years while you scramble for your pitiful ball pens. I am taking them to my grave and you can pry them from my cold dead hands. I am not paranoid, I am just a collector.

But honestly I was able to take notes after notes without any hiccup.

5. USB CABLES

Hah! You think you have more than me? Well.. you might. I actually don't have that many. Probably around 142. But I had to put all of them. Mom wants a charger for her phone? Done. Dad wants one for his kindle? Done. Wife wants a 100 to lose? *sniff* done.

The Boat cables are one of my babies who constantly meet their ends in my wife's merciless hands.

6. MICROFIBER CLOTH

OK, I sense your disbelief. It is fine, I couldn't believe it myself. But sometimes, you do surprise yourself and actually clean up around you. That is where these guys came in handy. I had ordered them a while ago for car and desktop cleaning. Turns out, you could clean anything with it. Did you know you could actually remove and wipe your eyeglasses to see better? Well, you learn something new everyday.

7. THERMOMETER

Seriously though, a thermometer is just essential in the current world. You never know who you have to kick out of your house when you see they are sick. That is why I am homeless and writing this from the streets now. Anybody know a good place I can crash?

Any brand of non-contact thermometers will save us a lot of trouble when we have to make those phone consultations with doctors.

8. Yoga Mat

Like every normal person, I knew a yoga mat was a glorified rubber door mat. Like every normal person, I bought it and let it collect dust in the corner my study. Guess what it is still not really useful.. except when you need to sit down on the ground with your laptop or in really rare cases when you do exercises.

But trust me, your bum will thank them if you need to sit on the ground for long.

9. TOOL KIT

With no plumber, electrician and service available. I did the sane thing - I asked my dad to fix stuff. While he grumbled and asked for some tools(me excluded) I had the perfect solution - my computer and laptop screw driver set. These little guys are really cheap and are of terrible quality. But one day at your house with your entire family screaming at you for not fixing stuff - they seem alright.

10. TRIMMER

Oh the Philips is my baby, my little precious. How in the world did people even live without trimmers? I would look like a yogi, a bad one at that - if I hadn't got this marvel of an invention fixed ahead of the quarantine. Please don't break before this crisis. Please oh please!
